Homemade Hummus

Homemade Hummus

This is your sign to make your own hummus! And yes, it really only takes 10 minutes. I stopped buying store bought hummus awhile ago and love that I can make my own customized to my favourite flavours. This version is super creamy, garlicky (we love a lot of garlic around here) and made with a few pantry staples. Hope you love it as much as I do! 💕

You’ll need:

  • 1 can chickpeas (rinsed)
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Garlic (I used three cloves – this one is pretty garlicky!)
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • 1-2 ice cubes (throw in at the end and it makes your hummus so creamy)
  • Turkish biber
  • Fresh parsley
  1. To a blender, add chickpeas, tahini, garlic cloves, lemon juice, cumin and olive oil.
  2. Blend well. Near the end toss in ice cubes and some salt for flavour. Blend until creamy.
  3. Plate your hummus and drizzle some olive oil, sprinkle on some Turkish biber and fresh parsley.
  4. Eat with veggies or crackers and enjoy!
